Four Everett Community College faculty members and the editor of EvCC’s student newspaper will lead a discussion about fake news, bias, filter bubbles and finding real information at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 9 at EvCC’s Henry M. Jackson Center’s Wilderness Room.
“The ability to navigate news and discern among sources has never been more important,” said EvCC Arts and Learning Resources Dean Jeanne Leader.
The conversation is free and open to the public.
The panel will also talk about the relationship between media, technology and national security.
Panel participants include: Clipper editor Abby Tutor, faculty members T. Andrew Wahl (Journalism & Media Communication), Dennis Skarr (Computer Information Systems), Andrea Wells-Edwards (English) and Teresa Jones (EvCC library). The panel will be moderated by Zaki Hamid, who teaches Media Communication and Film.
