When You Just Want Somewhere Easy: Bruno's Pizzeria

Just across the trestle from Everett, in what I have always known as the Frontier Village area of Lake Stevens, there are a myriad of dining establishments these days. And among those choices is Bruno’s Pizzeria.
Bruno's is a kickback, casual, bring the family or just yourself kind of place. For my dinner at Bruno’s, I met a girlfriend, and we fit in with the busy place just fine as toddlers ran around and the teen couple across from us made googly eyes at each other the whole time.
Bruno’s official name is Bruno’s Pizzeria, but our observation is that name is kind of limiting for a place with a menu that includes lots of offerings besides pizza. Even breakfast on the weekend! Still Brunos does offer more than 20 pizzas, all of them 12 inches in size. They feature different sauces from the traditional red to a garlic cream sauce, a pesto and a BBQ. They even offer pizza with a gluten free crust which I know can be hard to find. We saw several pizzas go by our booth and they all looked cheesy and delicious.
In addition to all those pizzas, you can find lots of other Italian specialties. Chicken parmesan, lasagna, baked spaghetti, mac n cheese are all there. The lunch menu has almost a dozen sandwiches.
The evening we visited, my girlfriend and I both opted for a glass of wine, and each of us got one of the autumn seasonal specials. She went for the butternut squash ravioli, and I went for the squash and sausage penne. We gave both selections a thumbs up, but mine was a little too rich for my taste. Not for my husband's taste, though, who welcomed my leftovers.
Bruno’s has a restaurant side and a bar side, and both were busy on the Tuesday night we were there. Despite lots of customers to keep her running, our server was excellent. She was bubbly, friendly, and patient with us, as we had so much to catch up on that it took us a long time to quit talking and finally order.
Both of us, at the end of our meal, gave Brunos a thumbs up. It's one of those places where there's nothing not to like. It's your easy neighborhood, let's-go-get-a-beer-and-a-pizza kind of place with something for everyone. The kind of place people return to time and again. Try it and maybe you will too.
