Core Academy Training is integral to providing direct services to victims in the State of Washington. This forty-hour training qualifies participants to provide direct services to victims in Washington State. Victim Support Services (VSS) provides this essential training four times a year.
Our Core Academy Training is not open to community members at large. If you are an employee or volunteer at an agency that intersects with victim services, you are eligible to attend. Additionally, if you are a current student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Social Services or another similar degree, you may be eligible to attend. Training covers a wide range of topics including crisis intervention, the criminal and civil legal systems, cultural competency and victims’ rights.
