The Evergreen Branch of the Everett Public Library gets Wilder! with master filmmaker Billy Wilder’s movies the last Wednesday of every month through 2018.
Renowned as one the best directors of Classical Hollywood cinema, Billy Wilder is also considered our finest screenwriter. Every film by the brilliant and versatile Wilder carries his touch: subtle visual style, cynicism, a deep intelligence, sharp wit, and humanism. The Evergreen Cinema Society explores a dozen of his finest, the last Wednesday of every month at 1:00 p. m.
January 31st at 1:00, we screen and discuss Ninotchka (1939, 110 min.) But will she also fall under the sway of Capitalist Count Leon (Melvyn Douglas)?
