Introduction to Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace with Jessica Gurley
Who should attend? This workshop is recommended for direct service workers, supervisor and managers.
When referring to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, many tend to define these terms as respect for and appreciation of differences in ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education, and religion. But it's more than this. We all bring diverse perspectives, work experiences, life styles and cultures with us into the workplace. To have a diverse workforce in an inclusive workplace with opportunity for the talents of all employees to create value, deliver a superior client experience and develop innovative solutions for the communities we serve takes a mutual understanding of diversity language and the impacts of race in our society. This training will provide an introductory discussion regarding race and equity to begin to provide social justice in all work disciplines.
Jessica Gurley is currently the Program Administrator for the Snohomish County Superior Court. She has a Master's Degree in Public Administration and is the statewide Cultural Competency trainer for the Juvenile Justice Corrections Personnel Academy.
