Scotland Returns to Everett

  • Everett Public Library, Main 2702 Hoyt Avenue Everett, WA, 98201 United States (map)

The Northwest Scottish Fiddlers are dedicated to preserving traditional Scottish music and culture. Members come from all walks of life, and include students, teachers, physicians, dentists, nurses, librarians, and counselors. Featured music will be from Scotland, Nova Scotia, and the Shetland Islands, played on fiddles, cellos, guitar, piano and string bass. Many arrangements are by renowned Scottish fiddler Calum MacKinnon as well as others made through collaborative efforts of club members and friends. Singing and dancing will round out the show.

The Fiddlers have performed for several years to standing room only crowds at Northwest Folklife Festival. For the past ten years the group has hosted an annual workshop and concert on Whidbey Island which features two of Scottish Fiddle's greatest, Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas.
