Contributor Guidelines
Want to submit a guest post for the blog? If it's related to the good things happening in Everett- send it over!* We're happy to cover a wide array of subjects. Here's just a few possible topics:
Everett history
Food and drink (especially new spots or good ones we haven’t covered much)
Kid friendly stuff
“Worth Leaving Town For” articles (covering places outside of Everett proper)
The Everett outdoors: hiking, biking & parks
Small businesses
Awesome people in the community
DESIRED CRITERIA:
300 - 500 words
Everett-centric + positive
Provide information that’s valuable & interesting to the people of Everett (Ideally written from a local perspective. If you don’t live in the Everett area, you’re probably not a good fit).
Written with a fun and authentic tone of voice. Experiential and inclusive. It's about creating delight and value for our readers. Not about you, sorry!
At least one to two quotes if you’re interviewing someone or if you can get a quote from someone to add more credibility and depth to the post.
At least 1 good, high-resolution photo around 1MB is ideal. It should be landscape orientation for the header, but the more photos the better. Even a photo taken with a decent cell phone can work. Please include proper attribution for any photos and ensure proper permissions are in place before submitting any photos you’d like us to use.
SUBMITTING YOUR GUEST POST:
If you want the post to be published a specific date, please submit it at least 2 weeks ahead of time.
When you submit the post, please include a brief bio (3 sentences or less) and a headshot.
You’re also welcome to include copy you’d like us to use on social media.
Email us your article in a google doc (or just paste the text in the body of the email), attach any photos to that same email, and email it to: Contact@LiveInEverett.com
That’s it! Have fun. Be authentic. Bring value to the people of Everett. Plug your own stuff if it’s relevant. We’ll proof and edit as needed.
Email us if you have questions. We look forward to receiving your first guest post!
*Please note, any submitted information gives Live In Everett the right to publish, edit, market, re-publish, and use the content as they wish. It's up to the author to ensure facts and copyrights. Any posts that do not follow the desired criteria, that are too sales-y, boring, poorly written, or just don't seem interesting to our audience, may be rejected.
