Get "Paid" to Bike, Carpool, Bus in EVT
Car exhaust and brake lights. Merging.
Yuck.
Everett can get slammed with traffic at rush hour, no matter which route you take.
To help lighten the roads, Everett Transit is now offering a rewards program that creates incentives for savvy commuters. With the Everett in Motion program, bicyclists, bus riders, and carpoolers can turn logged trips into prizes like preloaded ORCA cards, thermoses, or messenger bags.
Also, all participants are entered into a monthly raffle for bigger rewards like a $200 ORCA card.
Here's how it works.
1. Check eligibility and enroll
You'll want to brush up on the guidelines. There are important things to know before you get started. Your trips must start/end within city limits, must be over 1/2 a mile, etc.
Then get signed up.
2. Log trips
You can log them digitally or print out a calendar and fill them out manually. Submit them online or in person.
You must take trips on eight days in a given month to be eligible for prizes.
3. Earn rewards
Win prizes for up to 3 months. The prizes get slightly fancier every month. On the third month you win an $50 ORCA gift card and a messenger bag. Pretty nice.
And there you go.
Fewer single occupancy vehicles on the streets equals a better commute for everyone.
The roads you save might be your own.
