5 Fast Favorites: Charlie & Elisa, Green Everett Partnership

Charlie and Elisa have been working to make Everett a greener place with Green Everett Partnership. We’re happy they stopped by the podcast to share their Five Fast Favorites. Listen to our interview with Green Everett Partnership on the Live in Everett Podcast.

1. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT TO TELL FRIENDS ABOUT?

Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary // Spencer Island Restoration Project

The Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary covers 42 acres of wetlands right by Paine Field, and the Spencer Island Restoration project is helping to restore the Snohomish River Estuary.

We took a walk through the Narbeck wetlands once.

2. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT TO GET OUTSIDE?

Rotary Park // Silver Lake

Rotary Park in Lowell is a fantastic place to take a walk along the Snohomish River and get away from the city. Silver Lake is South Everett’s centerpiece and home to many events, including summertime outdoor movies and children’s concerts.

3. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT HANDS DOWN.

Howarth Park // Summit Everett

The perfect meld of urban and country, industry and recreation, Howarth Park is distinctly Everett. Summit Everett offers all sorts of climbing classes to get you hanging upside down like Tom Cruise at the beginning of Mission: Impossible 2.

4. FAVORITE ANNUAL EVENT IN EVERETT?

Green Everett Day

October 26 is Green Everett Day, a day to spend planting native species and weeding weeding out the invasive plants at Thornton A. Sullivan Park to get the park ready for the wet season.

5. FAVORITE HIDDEN GEM IN EVERETT?

The South Everett Forest Preserve // Interurban Trail

The South Everett Forest Preserve is a small pocket of wilderness in South Everett and is a great place to get lost and go for a shady walk in the summer. The Interurban Trailhead begins in Everett and navigates south to King County and is a great way to bike or walk to Lynnwood and parts south.
