THINGS TO DO IN EVERETT, WASHINGTON

BILLY ELLIOT
NOW PLAYING AT VILLAGE THEATRE

HOLY TAP DANCING. We had the pleasure of catching opening night of Village Theatre's production of Billy Elliot and it was unbelievable. We know, we know – we always say their shows are remarkable, or amazing, or some positive adjective. The truth is, they are ALWAYS remarkable and no one pays us to say so. We're extremely lucky to have to a lot of cool things in Everett and Village Theatre's world-class performances rank high on the list (for us, at least). Anyway, back to Billy Elliot. It's a musical (score by Elton John) loaded with outstanding dancing that had us on the edge of our seats for the whole performance. More so, the story is transcendent - transporting the audience into an imaginary realm and helping us to wrestle with life's big questions. It’s the kind of 'good' story that makes you want to be a better person. No hyperbole here. Go see it and you'll get what we're sayin'. Get tickets now – it's only playing for a few weeks.

EAT + DRINK

First off, we wanted to give a shout out to Lombardi's for all they're doing at Music at the Marina. We went down on Thursday, had an awesome dinner and a great time in their beer garden. It was packed and the staff was totally on it. High fives all around.

There's a new pop-up coffee shop in the Wetmore Theatre Plaza that we're loving called Narrative Coffee. The owner Maxwell is a stand-up dude and all-around coffee guru. It's a little on the higher-end side, so don't expect a cup of cheap drip coffee. Go expecting to pay a little more for an experience that's worth it. Everything is sourced and curated for quality by Maxwell. He has a vision and it's a good one.
