Weekly Goodness: March 26, 2020

Hope you’re finding some good rest at home. As these most unusual weeks unfold, we’ll be here for ya same as always! 💕

THROWBACK VIDEO: We think some comfort food is in order this week. Check out that time we ate at Botan Ramen and then give them a call and order some take out. You can pay over the phone to minimize contact. 🍲

Remember that envelope you got last week from Census 2020? Or maybe that was the week before. Well, it is important. Please open it up today, go online, enter your census ID and fill out the questionnaire. This is important because federal funds are allocated based on our population so we want every one of you counted. 🇺🇸

Everett historian, author and Live in Everett contributor, Richard Porter has a new blog titled, “From the Epicenter.” He is working to capture this historic moment and exploring the meaning of this new way of living.  ✍️

Since we are all buckling in for at least 2 weeks at home, we’ve found some new ideas to keep you entertained.

MISSING HENRY J’S SILKY SMOOTH RADIO VOICE?: Our former podcast producer has restarted his radio show, The Stereo Wire. He will be streaming tunes 24/7 and DJing live every day starting at 6 p.m. Tune in

HOMEBODIES FOR HOMEBODIES: Everett Music Initiative is starting a new online gathering called HOMEBODIES. Starting Saturday at 7 p.m. they will stream nightly musical performances on the EMI Facebook page

STUDENT SHUTTERBUGS: Schack Art Center has announced the winners of their 2020 Black & White Photography Contest. The contest was open to all Snohomish County high school students. See the winning photos here

TAKE A TOUR: Even though you are staying home, you can still get around Everett, virtually, on Sweet Walls of Everett’s Instagram.

DREAM A LITTLE (OR BIG) DREAM: Things won’t always be the way they are right now. Take a listen to this favorite Ted Radio Hour about how cities are changing the world. How will we change the world Everett?

Need to take a break from cooking and leftovers? Here are a couple local businesses that would be more than happy to make lunch for you.

Cookies? Yes please! Use UberEats or PostMates to order from Midnight Cookie Co. Build a box and don’t forget a Birthday Cake Cookie. 😋

How does a Hot Pastrami and Black Cherry Tarragon Stubborn Soda from Red Rock Subs sound? Order online for pick up or delivery. Good news, backing out onto Broadway shouldn’t be a problem today.
