Contested Boundaries: A New Pacific Northwest History

  • Everett Public Library, Main 2702 Hoyt Avenue Everett, WA, 98201 United States (map)

David J. Jepsen, principal author of "Contested Boundaries: A New Pacific Northwest History" appears to discuss his book, the first new history of the Pacific Northwest in nearly 30 years.

Jepsen's history focuses how groups have contested the political, economic, and social barriers that blocked their path to equality. He details the momentous struggles of Native Americans, African Americans, Asians and others as they struggled to hurdle one boundary after another during settlement, industrialization, economic calamity, world war and globalization.
