Gell Poetry Prize winner Bethany Reid gives a free poetry reading and discusses the creation of poetry in a free event.

In discussing the creation of poetry, Reid will focus on the life and works of poet Emily Dickinson.

Bethany Reid's most recent book is Sparrow, which won the 2012 Gell Poetry Prize. Her award-winning poems have appeared in numerous print and on-line journals, including Clementine Unbound, EIL, Calyx, Santa Clara Review, Pontoon, Poetry Northwest, and Cheat River Review. After 25 years of teaching, including 17 years at Everett Community College, she now writes full-time. Find out more at her blog.
