Everett Community College is celebrating its 75th anniversary year with a public reception at the college’s Walt Price Student Fitness Center.
Everett Junior College opened its doors in September 1941 with 134 students. EvCC, which changed its name in 1967, now educates more than 19,000 students every year.
Artifacts from the college’s 75-year history will be on display by decade. Photos show the college’s humble beginnings in a converted elementary school and its progress to state-of-the-art facilities now in place in north Everett.

EvCC will also recognize 12 alumni from eight programs as EvCC Distinguished Alumni, the college’s highest honor.
