The Early Jet Engine History: A Personal Journey

An evening with retired University of Washington Aeronautics and Astronautics professor Dr. Reiner Decher. Dr. Decher will recount the history of the German engineers who built jet engines during the Second World War, including those working on the Junkers 004 engine for the Me 262, and will explore the challenges and opportunities these engineers and their families encountered throughout the war and in the postwar period. Dr. Decher will touch on his own experience as a member of one of these families. If you are interested in World War II history or aeronautical engineering you won’t want to miss this talk!
