Dark and stormy nights are yours to write, slash, and boil down to 1,000 words or less. In this course, you will learn about the basics of flash fiction and horror writing in order to develop your own monstrous creations. All you will need is a notebook and pen or pencil (or a laptop) to jot down ideas and craft a handful of flash fiction pieces you could submit or simply read out loud at the next bonfire. Classes will be taught in workshop format, with constructive, individualized feedback, and ideas for places to submit your work for free. A culminating “open mic” session for participants presents an opportunity for dark stories to emerge from the shadows.
