AGHOST To Host a Phenomenal Night at Everett Theatre

It’s that spooky time of year again. That time of year when the leaves fall down and the decor of ghosts, goblins, and gore go up. Whether or not you believe in ghosts, there are written accounts of ghost stories dating back to the first century A.D. Will Everett soon have a new ghost story to tell the world? We will find out this Halloween.

It has been rumored that our own Everett Historic Theatre is haunted. People have reported several ghost sightings there throughout the decades. Established in 1901, it has been in the center of our downtown for 119 years. I think enough time has passed for this iconic building to have accrued a ghost or two, but that’s not for me to decide. Let’s leave it to the pros. Literally. This coming Halloween night, a team of professional ghost hunters will conduct a paranormal investigation at the theater.

So who are these ghost hunters? Founded twenty years ago, AGHOST (or Advanced Ghost Hunters of Seattle-Tacoma) is the Pacific Northwest’s oldest working ghost-hunting team. Ross Allison, founder of AGHOST, has a scope of work that has taken him far. He’s investigated all over the world: at The Stanley Hotel in Boulder, Colorado (Stephen King’s inspiration for “The Shining”), at Eastern State Prison, Alcatraz Prison, at the original location of “The Exorcist” case, and the Roman Catacombs, to name a few places. He’s been on radio programs, in magazines and books, and on television: The Tonight Show, MTV, CNN, A&E, and Discovery Channel.

This same Ross Allison and his expert team will be offering a public service at The Everett Historic Theatre this October 31st. Taking a structured scientific-based approach, AGHOST will launch an investigation into finding truth behind the now unknown. From 9:00pm until midnight, viewers like you are welcome to observe this paranormal investigation of possible hauntings and oddities with the help of virtual reality, digitally. If you own a pair of VR goggles, this will be a time to use them. If not, no worries! The event can be viewed on any phone or computer by sliding the screen left or right for a 360-degree viewing. Participants are encouraged to donate to the team and help our 119-year-old theater stay phenomenal.

I asked Ross what inspired him to start an organization like AGHOST.

“My mother, she loved ghost stories. So I grew up listening to these stories and found myself curious if these Hauntings are real.”

Are they? Tune in this Halloween and you may just be closer to deciding for yourself.
