Everett’s Blossom Solar Serves Growing Clean Energy Market

Then there’s Blossom Solar of Everett. They service the growing Snohomish County market, keeping tax benefits and solar savings in our local economy.
The energy of this company (pun intended) is contagious. After talking to them on the phone I was ready to get some panels installed myself.

Blossom Solar was started by Everett natives with a passion for clean energy.
Co-founder Cole Anderson got on the solar bandwagon in 2014 when he worked an internship building windmills.
When he learned about solar energy he was ”totally gung-ho,” and convinced that generating home energy via solar was the wave of the future; a way for the public to wean off the power drain on the public utilities grid.
Four out of six employees at Blossom Solar are from North Everett. The company is trying to keep the local solar market truly local.

Investing in solar for home energy makes sense. Creating household energy will save consumers money as energy rates continue to rise.
Right now the state covers 50% of installation costs, to be paid out in annual checks for eight years. Solar installation companies like Blossom work with local credit unions to get consumers low-interest loans for their solar installs. Another 30% of the cost is covered by a federal tax credit. The rest of the savings, for the consumer, come from paying lower energy bills.
Current incentive program funds for solar installation, provided by the state of Washington, are set to be depleted by January.
Industry experts are all saying that now is the time to act before state money for these installs dries up completely.
