Launch into Fun with or without a Boat

There is something spectacular about spending time at the Everett Waterfront as it keeps bringing new delights to explore. There is now a wide variety of restaurants to choose from; some coffee spots and great places to simply sit and people watch. Oh, and don’t forget the docks and docks and docks full of interesting boats.

Have you wandered over to the Everett Boat Launch area at all recently or ever? I mean if you don’t own a boat it can seem like the obvious answer would be no but there is a surprising number of things to enjoy, with or without a boat, on that end of the waterfront.

For starters, like at the more popular end of the waterfront, you can find nice paths that keep you out of traffic and give you a perfect place for meandering and greeting friends. I regularly walk at the waterfront. Partly because it is so close by, but also because I love that it is flat and there are always lots of dogs to pet and admire as their owners walk them by.

There are lots of cute kids too because the boat launch area features a big park with a sea themed playground complete with a pirate ship and sea monsters. It is here too that you can get your tickets for the short boat ride over to the jetty during the summer months. And bring your kite because there is a big grassy — and windy — area perfect for easy kite flying.

For those seeking to appreciate the bounty of the bay, there is a long fishing dock. And along the same front shore, you will find plenty of places to sit and watch the boats from the launch go by or enjoy a sunset late in the day.

There are rows and rows of busy docks for boat launching. We’ve taken our kayaks out from here a number of times so all size watercraft are welcome.

On the most recent day we walked the boat launch area, we even found a food truck making for no need to trek over to the more popular area if hunger were to strike. Even better! Bring a picnic and sit at one of the numerous tables available.

The Everett Boat Launch has been there a long time, serving boaters with quick and easy access to our Port Gardner Bay. It's just, now, with the rest of the waterfront blossoming, the secrets are out on all the ways the boat launch adds to the fun — boat or not.
