Everett Community College’s Japanese Club is celebrating Halloween with a Haunted Tea House Oct. 20 at EvCC’s Henry M. Jackson Conference Center.
From noon to 3 p.m., the Tea House will offer family-friendly entertainment. Kids can make a fox trickster paper mask or a fair-weather charm called a teru-teru bozu. EvCC Librarian Heather Uhl will also share some Japanese ghost stories along with cultural and historical explanations.
From 5 to 9 p.m., prepare to be scared with spine-tingling ghost stories from Japan. This part of the event is not recommended for kids younger than 13.
Admission (cash or check only) is a suggested donation of $1 for students and $5 for community members, faculty and staff. Or get in for free with a donation of one nonperishable food item for the EvCC Food Pantry.
