In her show “Death is Nothing at All,” on display Jan. 16-Feb. 9 at Everett Community College’s Russell Day Gallery, Jones asks viewers to contemplate how death changes us while not changing the physical landscape.
Meet Jones during a public reception for the show at 12:30-2 p.m. Jan 18 at the gallery.
Jones works in photography, photo encaustics and installation, and is a full-time photography faculty member at EvCC. Her work has been exhibited in Boston, San Francisco and Portland including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her work is driven by a curiosity towards the parallels that exist between the human psychological landscape and the relationship humans form with their physical landscape. The intersections of the banal and the sublime crisscross throughout her imagery. Visit nancyellenjones.com to view more of her work.
