Everett Real Estate - January 2017 Market Update

Happy 2017.

It's the new year and a new month, which means it's time for a new Everett real estate market update*. To check on the Everett market, let's take a look at the numbers from last month, December 2016:

Now for comparison's sake, let's take a look at the previous month's numbers. November 2016:

Not surprising, as we've trudged further into the winter season prices and the number of homes sold have gone down. Similarly, the average number of days on market has gone from 32 up to 38. Which means homes sold about 16% slower in December than they did the previous month.

For some broader context, let's compare December 2016 to the previous year, December 2015:

Wowza. The average home price in Everett in December 2015 was nearly $50,000 less than December 2016. That's nearly a 15% increase in one year. Also in December 2016, homes were selling slower, 43 days on average whereas last month it was down to 38 days. And the number of homes sold in December 2015 went from 230 down to 162 the following year.

Even though Everett real estate has slowed this last month, the market has greatly strengthened over the last year.
