Fall's warming up. Here are three weekend events to put on your radar.
2nd Annual Fall Celebration
Saturday, September 16
Floral Hall at Forest Park
7PM-10PM
This is a fun-filled benefit event for the Everett Museum of History. The Museum has over 50,000 historical artifacts, but no permanent home. Yet. This fundraiser should helpfully change that by raising money for a new building.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment at a historic building (read more about Floral Hall here), The Fall Celebration will feature contemporary music from bands Go for the Moon, and the Moon Daddy Band. There will be a raffle for historic items, exhibits, dancing, and more.
U-Pick Fruit and Veggies on Smith Island
Saturdays in September
9AM-2PM
Hima Farms on Smith Island is offering u-pick times, open to the public. Take your friends and family to harvest apples, grapes, blueberries, blackberries, peppers, lettuce. Local! Seasonal!
The U-Pick will be a weekly thing on on Saturdays (and hopefully will run through October, though this is pending the end of the season). Your best bet is to go ASAP and pick what’s good while it’s still there.
Access to the farm is off of HWY 529 as you head out of town, going north to Marysville. Take the first right and follow the signs.

Historic Self-Guided Tour
Saturday, September 23
10AM-3PM
Bring your walking shoes and stroll through history.
This self-guided tour of 7-8 historic homes begins at the beautiful Van Valley House on Colby. You can buy tickets there on the day of the event, you can buy them online in advance or get them beforehand at J Matheson Gifts on Colby.
The tour takes you around nearby residential neighborhoods in the residential section of Historic Everett. You can ogle well-maintained craftsman-style homes and get your fill of bannisters, moulding, claw-foot bathtubs, and vintage pendant lighting.
Ticket sales go to benefit the Historic Preservation Society in Everett.
Anything else fun going on? Post about it in the comments section on the blog.
