Shake the Schack
The Schack Art Center is a visual arts smorgasbord: part glassblowing studio, part fine art gallery, and a spot for educational and public events.
It's also a place you can simply walk into and check out. You can buy paintings, ceramics, and jewelry in the store front.
The gifts are upscale, thoughtful pieces for the classy mother-in-law or employer in your life. They have things for most price points. You can buy a ceramic bowl or an original painting.
The Schack puts on some of my favorite public events throughout the year: Fresh Paint, The Artists' Garage Sale, and Schack-toberfest. Follow them on Facebook to get event updates year round.
They teach classes in printmaking, calligraphy, glassblowing, encaustic, ceramics, jewelry, mosaics, sculpture, stained glass, and more. It's a great way for beginners to pick up a new skill.
