Best Billiards in Town

So you wanna be a pool shark. You want to be Paul Newman in The Hustler so you know what it’s like to see The Color of Money.

Very good. You’re in the right spot. For good reasons, Everett, Washington attracts great billiards talent. So if you want to hone your chops expect to face some top-tier pool players.

Here are your best bets for finding a good table around town.

1. The Soundview Bar & Grill

Where professional-caliber pool players go to compete in league tournaments. Above the bar is a line of displayed trophies, and to the left of the drink line hangs a plaque that reads,”If there ain’t pool in heaven I’m not going.”

For our money it’s got the best pool tables in town: the felt is routinely maintained, and everything’s level. Be prepared to wait for one of their three tables during peak hours. You’ve heard the term “play to win.” Here if there are no bets down, you need to win to play. Put a quarter down under the rail to mark your spot in line.

There’s free pool all day Sunday, and free pool after league clears out on Monday nights.

The competition here is as stiff as the drinks. Which is saying a lot.

Address: 1116 Hewitt Ave.
Hours: 11 AM - 2 AM every day

2. White Buffalo Saloon

Another pool shark fave joint. Playoffs are held here. You can’t miss this place right off of HWY 99 (hint: it has a large white buffalo statue outside). It’s a split level bar with two pool tables on each floor. Order a pizza and get your trick shot on. Host of APA and BCA league nights.

Address: 5614 Evergreen Way
Hours: 10 AM - 2 AM everday

3. Twin Foxes

Low key, low drama. Get a couple mimosas on a Saturday morning. Heads up: the rails are a bit cushier and the pockets are slightly tighter. The tables are in a separate room from the bar, making it easy to stay focused.

Address: 2718 Hewitt Ave

4. 128th Billiards Sports Bar

You can rent a private table here. Good if you want to go and really work on your bank shots or breaks and don’t want to deal with knuckleheads looking for competition. Maybe have a ladies’ night, or go out with the boys for a round.

Open until 2 am. Chicken strips, fries, nachos. Save your quarters and play happy hour pool for just $5 an hour. This place has pool thrones—high backed chairs with divots in the arms built just for your pool cue. Countless straight cues to choose from of various weights.

Address: 617 128th St SW #101
Hours: Monday thru Saturday 1 PM - 2 AM, Sunday 9 AM - 2 AM
