Lisa Labovitch is the overseer of the Northwest Room at the Everett Public Library. Anything about the history of Everett she can help you with—from looking up who lived in your home to learning more about the founders of our fair city.

1. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT TO TELL FRIENDS ABOUT?
Jetty Island days are on until Labor Day, so you have plenty of time to visit. Lisa enjoys kayaking around Jetty Island. We love chilling out there on a fantastically beautiful day.

2. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT TO GET OUTSIDE?
My Front Yard
Well not the Live in Everett front yard (we don’t even have one) but Lisa’s front yard. Maybe we can all come over one day? Throw the frisbee around?
3. FAVORITE PLACE IN EVERETT HANDS DOWN.
Angel of the Winds Arena Community Rink
No matter the weather, you can get your skate on at the community ice rink in downtown Everett. Lisa likes the locker rooms there (we’ll take her word for it) but we just enjoyed cruising around when we filmed a Live in Everett TV there (check out Sierra’s spill!)
4. FAVORITE ANNUAL EVENT IN EVERETT?
The Mother of All Garage Sales
The Mother of All Garage Sales (or MOAGS) turns the Northwest Neighborhood into a bargain-hunter’s dream every August. Just celebrating 10 years in 2019, MOAGS keeps getting bigger and bigger each year and now has food trucks, tamales and even its own ATM machines to keep you fueled up.

5. FAVORITE HIDDEN GEM IN EVERETT?
Lisa joked that some of her favorite people live there (I mean, it’s true), but the Evergreen Cemetery is a fascinating place to wander and feel disconnected from the city. Visit the graves of Everett’s founders or take in the cryptic beauty of Rucker’s Tomb.
