Everett's New Wine Bar: Bean & Vine
When I found out about the new wine bar in town, I knew I had to pencil in time to try it out.
Bean & Vine opened their doors at the end of May and is quickly emerging as a downtown staple. The owners, Deanna Buffon and Katrina Kershner, created a unique establishment offering a refined wine list and diverse menu. It’s a small sanctuary with a soothing ambience of warm tones and cozy furniture.
Whether you’re seated at their gorgeous bar upfront or nestled into a table in the back, this is the kind of place where you can settle down for a while and enjoy a glass of wine, a nice espresso, or some meticulously prepared food.
But don’t box them into the wine bar category. In fact, Bean & Vine features a range of menu items and beverages. There’s a morning menu with some breakfast items and locally made pastries, takeaway sandwiches and chips for those needing to grab something on the run, and small plates and entrees if you’d like to dine in.
It’s also all ages, meaning bring the whole family on down! There’s something for everyone. There’s open mic night on Tuesdays at 6 PM, and often live music scheduled other nights of the week (check their Facebook page for more information).
I decided to swing by one evening for an after-work snack and glass of pinot noir. I chose the bruschetta, but I hear the bread and dipping oil is a hit. The herb infused oil is made in-house.
Deanna’s background in the food industry shines through in the well thought out menu and delicately prepared dishes, like house-made chili, meatballs florentine, and chicken lettuce wraps. The wine list is concise and not overwhelming. The 2014 Terrapin Cellars Pinot Noir was fantastic and tasted just like a good glass of pinot noir should taste.
They also have a great beer selection and a dessert port on the menu. Speaking of desserts, I hear theirs are terrific; particularly the panna cotta.
Several of blocks west of the Xfinity Arena, their location makes for a great stop before or after an event. If you’re in the area and need some coffee, breakfast pastries, lunch, tapas, dinner, drinks, or just a relaxing moment, stop by and say hello. You deserve it!
