Think Tank Cowork: Inspiring Space Revitalized in Downtown Everett

Everett has been graced with a new coworking space. And spoiler alert: it’s gorgeous.

I recently attended the grand opening for Think Tank Cowork, located on Wetmore Ave across from Karl’s Bakery and Funko. All three floors of the former law office were beautifully remodeled by CPM Construction out of Snohomish.

Exposed timber beams and brick walls were left in place. Mixed with newly opened up layouts, slab counters, and beautiful finishes throughout.

Wick from the Wick-ed Wine Club topped off a pinot grigio for me after I arrived. And then founder Shane Kidwell gave me a tour of the new space.

Shane, I learned, owns mortgage and insurance companies. He first came to Seattle as a firefighter and eventually discovered Everett and found it to be a very undervalued city. As he furthered his journey into business he had been renting space at the Keybank Office Tower in Downtown Everett. But once Covid hit, he knew a more flexible office environment was needed to cultivate the level of culture he believes in.

The thoughtfully designed space has everything you could hope for. Complimentary coffee. Beer on tap. A rooftop deck. Foosball. A podcast studio. Oh yeah, and work space!

The historic building got more than just earthquake retrofitting upgrades, too. Think Tank is high-tech. With “lightning-fast” internet. Keyless 24/7 building access. And private conference rooms where you can easily reserve space through their digital booking system.

I also got to meet Think Tank’s Operations Manager, Marlena Powers (who goes by Marz). She also co-manages the T Spa at Tulalip Resort & Casino. Photos of Shane and Mars and the whole construction process played on TVs throughout the space during the grand opening event. It was remarkable to see the transformation.

The Grand Opening event was really great and stocked with local goodies. In addition to Wick from the Wick-Ed Wine Social Club serving drinks, there was charcuterie from Lombardi’s, Dessert from Despi Delite, flowers from Stadium Flowers, and beer from Diamond Knot. All local vendors.

Plans start at $99/month and go up from there. Shane mentioned at the grand opening they were already 30% booked, so don’t delay if you’re interested.

Regardless if Think Tank is right for you, we can’t wait to see what else is thought up and brought to life from this inspiring space.
