Decadent Comfort Food: Piroshky & Crepes European Bakery & Cafe
Having heard nothing but good things about Piroshky & Crepes European Bakery & Cafe, I decided to stop by to grab lunch. My first impression when I stepped into the shop was that it was adorably decorated. There’s a bright yellow display cabinet full of teapots and cups and a wall full of loose leaf teas. Lots of tea. The website has a list of 83 options!

Then there are the food cases packed with amazing-looking savory and sweet piroshki. The pastry case was filled with the most decadent-looking treats.
I was overwhelmed by all the choices so I opted for a simple ham and cheese piroshki. I also ordered a cream horn because I knew if I didn’t order a pastry I’d be thinking about them all day long.

The piroshki was everything you’d want from comfort food. Light, creamy cheese and ham filled the soft, fluffy hand-held pie. After a few bites though, I grabbed some dijon mustard from the refrigerator and it was the perfect complement to the piroshki.

Layers of flaky pastry surrounded the astonishingly light cream filling of the cream horn. It was such a special and amazing treat I decided to take my son for an afterschool surprise about a week later but was disappointed that they closed at 3 p.m. It’s understandable though because most small businesses are dealing with staffing shortages so we’ll plan a weekend trip soon. It’ll be worth the wait.
