Everett’s Breakfast Sandwich Round-up

Breakfast sandwiches are delicious, but they can take many forms. We decided if you could eat it without silverware and it was available by 8 a.m., we wanted to sample Everett’s best. Linda War Bonnet explored south Everett’s options while Garret Hunt took the north end of town. Here are the highlights of our Everett breakfast sandwich explorations.

North Everett

Jetty Bar and Grille
1028 13th St
Everett, WA 98201

They call it The Croissandwich. Scrambled eggs, garlic aioli, Tillamook cheddar, and rosemary-maple bacon. I loved the soft croissant breading and the fluffy eggs. Though they almost blended together into a little bit of a flat flavor. The sauce was nearly undetectable, but the bacon was a welcome contrast. The large side of roasted potatoes was a nice surprise as well. Of the three North Everett breakfast sandwiches I tried, The Croissandwich tasted the most classic.

Kindred Kitchen
3315 Broadway
Everett, WA 98201
(425) 512-0343

Fluffy eggs, cheddar, smoked gouda, ripe tomato, and morning aioli sauce on a rustic roll plus one side. Kindred Kitchen’s Pacific Breakfast Sandwich is just as delicious as it sounds. The bread was tender and melded marvelously with the moist mix of inner goodness. The aioli sauce with ripe tomatoes and smoked gouda give this breakfast sandwich a distinctly unique flavor you do not want to miss. I love that it’s both delicious and vegetarian. If you prefer, add bacon or choose from other options while using Kindred’s online ordering platform, which makes the whole ordering process a snap.

Narrative
2927 Wetmore Ave
Everett, WA 98201

Scratch biscuit, baked over easy egg, arugula, and chipotle aioli. Apparently, four ingredients are all it takes Narrative to whip up a plate of heaven. I now understand Linda’s love of Narrative’s buttermilk biscuits. The biscuit alone was remarkable. I was pretty nervous about the over-easy egg. I usually prefer scrambled, but I should have known better than to question Narrative’s tactics. The runny yolk made the sandwich perfectly moist and was a delightful contrast to the biscuit’s soft but distinctive CRUNCH. The chipotle aioli gave it a subtle but nice kick while the arugula maintained overall balance.

South Everett

112th Street Diner
11126 Evergreen Way
Everett, WA 98204
(425) 347-3977

Thick cut bacon, bread of your choice, a slice of American cheese and a fried egg. I ordered this at breakfast-time from the lunch menu and had to add the egg. I loved the bacon, but would have appreciated some aioli and to maybe have the American cheese swapped out for cheddar. Customer service was helpful and friendly so I’m sure if I ordered this again, they’d happily accommodate my request.

Mukilteo Speedway Cafe
11707 Mukilteo Speedway
Mukilteo, WA 98275

Two toasted English muffins, over-hard egg, cheddar cheese and your choice of bacon or ham. This is the Breakfast Duo and it isn’t available for ordering online. You’ll find it in the Mini Meals section of the website menu and can call your order in (or dine-in). These sandwiches were delicious, tasted just like the ones I make at home and two sandwiches made breakfast perfect for sharing. And yes, I acknowledge I left Everett for these sandwiches. I live in SW Everett and the Speedway Cafe is an excellent breakfast and lunch spot that’s just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s definitely WLTF

Patty’s Eggnest (Chuckwagon Inn)
6720 Evergreen Way
Everett, WA 98203
(425) 353-2200

Thick slices of grilled sourdough bread, hearty slices of ham, an egg over-easy and American cheese. This sandwich was huge and I could only eat half. It came with a cup of fruit and hashbrowns so it is a large meal, great for sharing. The thick slices of ham and sourdough bread really made this sandwich special.

Street Coffee & Bagels
1020 SE Everett Mall Way
Everett, WA 98208

Lightly toasted with an almost flakey crust. Soft with just a touch of chewiness. Bagels NYC Style. Sandwiched in between was nothing fancy, just cream cheese and lox. This is quite a find because it is hard to get good bagels in the PNW, except for this place on Whidbey Island. Street Coffee & Bagels is a drive-thru so breakfast is quick and easy. I’ll definitely be hitting this spot up again.

They could have been a contender. At the beginning of the year were looking forward to the grand opening of Bao Boss, Everett’s first breakfast sandwich pop-up, but they are temporarily on hold. We’ll let you know when they open back up.
